SleepLab is a research platform
- Everything you enter in the SleepLab app is logged on our server. SleepLab collects your timezone, an anonymized push notification identifier, and anything you enter into the app. SleepLab connects to the Samsung apps that are required for the study, and logs biometric and activity data sent from those.
- SleepLab collects no other identifying information about you or your phone. The app only knows your Participant ID,
which is a random five-digit code assigned to you at the beginning of the study. The app and server do not
know anything else about you other than what you enter into the app.
SleepLab is a collaboration with Samsung
- All data gathered via SleepLab in the course of our study can and most likely will be shared with Samsung engineers and researchers. All data is 100% anonymized before MIT sends it to Samsung, and we only send data that you have agreed to via your study agreements.
Data Deletion
- In order to use SleepLab, you are required to be within an academic study. If you wish to have your SleepLab
data
deleted, please contact your study coordinator. They will work with you to make sure you leave the study
correctly or maintain the correct data required to remain in the study. Rest assured, they will pass on any
request for data deletion to us, and we will delete your data as requested. In order to maintain study
participant anonymity, we ask that you please do not contact us directly and work only through your study
coordinator.
Your privacy is important to us!
- If you have any concerns at all, please contact us.
